ABOUT         WORK         CONTACT

I grew up in a multicultural home, and moved around a lot. Facing many struggles in my youth, I found refuge in nature and in books, consuming novels and memoirs with a voracious appetite. All this provided much insight and perspective, informing my instincts and worldview, and providing a great understanding of the world we live in. I consider myself a minimalist and a pragmatist, both personally and in my work.

I have been working as a graphic designer for over ten years, honing my skills and learning more every day. My quick thinking and laser focus result in clean, conceptually strong, efficient design solutions.

Outside of graphic design, I love giving my problem-solving side a break, flexing my creative muscles by exploring experimental typography and surrealist subject matter, and trying to cover my newest favorite songs on ukelele (with my cat’s encouragement). I also have a penchant for practical applications such as sewing, woodworking, and ceramics. My less-creative proclivities include hiking and camping, lifting weights at my local queer gym, thrifting vintage clothes and deranged tchotchkes, playing tabletop and video games with my son, and bringing an air of whimsy to the grocery store.

I still read every single day. I love stories and storytelling, from memoirs and novels to documentaries, film, television, podcasts, and video games. The intersection of design and storytelling found on book covers is especially dear to me. Something about the distillation of huge tomes and their themes down into a singular, effervescent image is so very satisfying. Growing up, I would roam the aisles of bookstores and libraries, feeling at home, and hungry for more. That feeling of finding the most perfect summing-up, of felling a giant, is what drew me to this profession, despite my interest and talent in other endeavors.
